Our Product
At VitaSoil™ we believe in our product. VitaSoil™ is a unique blend of living microbes, biochar, humic acids and micro-nutrients that bring soil to life. Our product, established in 2016, aims to provide the agronomic results fertilizer users need in a way that is naturally sustainable. Our solutions reduce the reliance on fertilizers and pesticides without sacrificing results. In fact, our methods have shown an increase in yields while charging the soils with beneficial microbes. Our manufacturing process meanwhile reduces the harmful effects of the South African forestry industry by utilizing the waste that it produces in an environmentally sustainable manner. Experience the potential of VitaSoil as you witness stronger, more vibrant crops and contribute to the health of our planet. Whether you are a commercial farmer, landscaper or passionate gardener, our aim is to get growers to focus on a more biological approach to agriculture by nourishing our earths soils with the beneficial microbes that bring the soil back to life.
Ecocert Qualification:
ECOCERT is an organic certification organization, founded in France in 1991. It is based in Europe but conducts inspections in over 80 countries, making it one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world.
We undergo an annual Ecocert audit to ensure that our product maintains the highest level of organic certification.
We are currently registered through Ecocert in Africa, the European Union (EU) and the National Organic Programme (NOP) in the USA.
Our Product
VitaSoil contains a balance of stable and active carbon that has been inoculated with a range of beneficial micro-organisms. Combining these elements assists in the regeneration of organic matter in the soil. Find out about the four main components below.
Stable Carbon
Biochar
Stable carbon comes in the form of biochar. Biochar is a carbon-rich organic material that has been proven to increase soil quality and retain nutrients, thereby enhancing plant growth. Biochar increases soil pH, electric conductivity, organic carbon, total available N and P, and cation exchange capacity.
Labile Carbon
Fungal sawdust
The labile carbon that we use has been naturally composted for over 15 years. This component is high in natural humic and fulvic acids and provides food for micro-organisms. Labile carbon plays a key role in microbial biomass, enzyme activity, microbial biomass, carbon turn-over, nutrient release and ultimately the biological fertility of soil.
Microbial Bio-fertilizer
Bacillus sp.
VitaSoil contains, in a balanced form, a high inoculum of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. Bacillus has multiple benefits for plant and soil health including; its ability to solubilise P, enhance N fixation, and produce sidephores that promote plant growth and suppress the growth of pathogens.
Vermicast
Earthworm castings
Castings produced by earthworms are rich in microbial activity and act as a natural bio-fertiliser, mineralising compounds into a plant available form. The effectiveness of vermicast lies in its naturally formed plant growth stimulants, in its ability to effect the cation exchange capacity and its supply of soil benevolent biota, in the form of bacteria and fungi.
